Frequently Asked Questions
Why are your prices set the way they are?
I am what I like to call a "hobby photographer". We are 'blessed with numerous talented photographers in our area so I always feel the need to explain this in depth, so bear with me. While I work hard to give the best quality images I possibly can and work one on one with you to give you everything you want out of a session, this is not my main job. I am an elementary school teacher and photography is what I love and am passionate about as an escape from the the hustle of daily life. All that being said, I do have a good camera, editing software and use my own personal belongings as props but do not have a full work week in a photography studio to manage cost for. The money I make doing pictures is used to supplement my income from teaching and most often to keep updating my camera and other equipment to be able to keep expanding my photo services. I had an established photographer tell me once that "everyone should be able to afford to get pictures made by a photographer". That statement and compliment she gave me that day really registered with me and I have kind of made it my personal mission to do just that for people.
What does do you mean when you say you are an "on site shooter"
Like I said above, I do not have a photography studio. I usually do photo shoots outside, at parks, the clients home, at their event venue, or around my town. I am blessed to live in an area that has plenty of natural beauty year round that make beautiful locations. I am working to use my home for some indoor sessions as well. (see more information on that on the book a session page)
What can I expect from my session?
I work with my clients in advance to plan out what kind of session they want and any specifics that come with that. Pinterest is my best friend when it comes to planning props and poses. I am always up for anything and willing to try new things if someone wants something very specific. I am also very laid back and easy going to keep everyone of all types and ages comfortable during their session. Children are my career and I've got plenty of patience and tricks up my sleeve to keep your little ones happy to give you the best pictures possible.
How long does it take to receive images?
It depends on the session. Regular sessions usually take about 1-2 weeks depending on my school schedule. Weddings usually take up to 3-4 weeks due to the large amount of images involved. I work really hard to send you a few images for a sneak peek within 1-2 days of your session.
What format do you use to deliver images?
I can put them on a flash drive if you would like. Lately sharing through digital download with Google has been working the best. This also gives you the ability to download images on your phone to be able to share them instantly on social media.
What about print release and print ordering?
I will give you a print release with your session. I can email it to or deliver it in person. As far as print ordering goes, typically that is something that people do on their own. However, if you would like me to order prints for you, we can discuss the logistics for that.
